Combining Saliva metabolites and Fasting Diets Together
If you’re someone who’s interested in how specific diets affect the body beyond just weight loss, you’re in the right place. We are excited to announce our collaboration with Eat By Alex, a Zürich-based wellness company offering holistic, science-based diet programs. In this collaboration we are combining our saliva metabolomic testing with their fasting-mimicking program (‘reSET’). Together, we’re exploring how a 5-day fasting diet impacts the body’s metabolic processes—using nothing more than a simple saliva sample before and after the program.
Why This Study?
The idea is simple but powerful: by tracking shifts in specific metabolites (like fat-burn markers and indicators of gut health) through saliva, we’re taking a closer look at the immediate effects of a carefully curated diet on the body. For nutrition professionals and health enthusiasts, the results can mean better tools to personalize and adjust diets based on direct metabolic feedback.
What’s Coming in the Blog Series
In the next few posts, we’ll break down the exciting findings from this pilot study:
Body fat loss: We’ll share insights from our bio-energetic framework, showing how much fat was lost during the program and why that matters for effective weight loss.
Energy Reprogramming: A look at how the diet affects the body’s energy production pathways, potentially leading to a more efficient metabolism.
Gut Health Markers: How we tracked specific short-chain fatty acids as indicators of a balanced, thriving gut microbiome.
Stay tuned as we dive into the science behind each of these areas and the exciting potential for saliva testing in the future of personalized nutrition.
Why This Matters for Nutritionists and Health & Wellness Professionals
This collaboration is a glimpse into the future of nutrition—a world where diet impacts aren’t just felt but tracked directly and easily. Saliva-based testing offers nutritionists and wellness professionals a way to evaluate how diets affect metabolism, fat loss, and gut health without invasive procedures. These kind of insight means personalized nutrition can be more accurate, adaptive, and tailored to each client’s metabolic needs. For those in the field, it’s a chance to take diet planning beyond general recommendations and base it on individual metabolic status.
